The range of expertise available - extending through mechanical, process, instrumentation and control, and low voltage electrical - allowed our resources to execute projects or specific tasks for a variety of industries: water and wastewater, nuclear fuel handling controls, heating and steam generating stations, hydrocarbon fuel handling and dispensing facilities, food production.

The tasks performed ranged from scoping through developing and evaluating requests for proposals (RFPs), preliminary design, instrumentation and control system (I&CS) detail design, tendering documents, field services and commissioning, to documentation standardization, design management and project management

Ashbridges Bay, Toronto ($20M construction, $10M engineering) plant-wide control system upgrade – design manager, devised a new design methodology and an unique tender package configuration

nuclear power
​CANDU Fuel Handling System:

Major contributor to the design of the fuel handling system (FHS) instrumentation and control equipment for the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1 built in Romania under Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. (AECL) license

Development coordination of the FHS control system for same project, production of working/shop drawings using indigenous parts within CANDU license envelope and preparation of Design Deviation Requests for AECL’s approval

Design lead for the test rigs’ controls for CANDU nuclear power plant FHS equipment. Reduced the design and construction time by developing a PLC design concept in lieu of the relay logic diagrams provided in the plant FHS project licensed from AECL

Developed, promoted, and applied successfully an innovative project delivery method which reduced the cost and time of preparing contract/tendering documents by approx. 60% for the plant wide process control system upgrades at the Ashbridges Bay Sewage Treatment Plant.
